Gingerbread houses with our little beans

Earlier this week we make gingerbread houses with Emma and Lucas !
This craft turned out to be way more successful than I had ever dreamed it to be.
Emma bought these great gingerbread house kits from world market, so all we had to do was assemble the four walls and then decorate ! (The assemble was easier said than done, thank goodness for hot glue!!!!)
Callie and Lucas did such a great job, and Emma and I had such a great time making a memory with our little ones!

The before!

Words can't describe how impressed i was with Callie at this moment. Never in my wildest dreams did i image that she would actually enjoy this craft at such a young age! My heart was very happy!

Lucas getting a little help from his mommy.

Mr. Lucas hard at work.

The finished product! I think they are the best looking gingerbread houses i've ever seen! :)

Callie's work of art!
We finished the day out by mailing christmas cards. This year I had a little helper. :) I hope the postman doesn't mind that our stamps are not in the proper place.

First snow day of the season!

We had our first snow of the season yesterday into today. I of course was so excited, and jumped at the chance to take Callie sledding for the first time. We did not get more than a few inches of snow but we did get ice and that made the sledding possible! Yay!!!! Here is our little bean experiencing her first snow and first time sledding!

First time down the hill.

We love our Brooks.

Friends-giving

Sunday we had a post- Thanksgiving party with the kiddos. Emma, Steve, and Lucas so kindly  hosted all of us at their beautiful home in crystal city.
Emma concurred her first turkey, and pumpkin pie!! Yummmmyyyy!!! All the food was so delicious i could barely walk to the car at the end of the night!
Here are a few pictures of the food and awesome decorations!

Love these! We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends in our lives!

Almost to cute to eat, key word ALMOST!

Amazing view from the roof top of their apartment!

 Lucas greeting his "baby".

Emma and Lily enjoying all the yummy food.

I love Callie shoving her face with turkey in the background of this picture. Classic!

Someone enjoyed the turkey cupcakes!

We made turkey hands with all the kiddos! They turned out so cute and are going to be so much fun to look back at! #Love this little hand!

My favorite picture from the entire night! Our world would not be the same without these two in it!

These two pictures are almost exactly a year apart! Look at our little beans. I can't get over how small they were just a year ago.

Thanksgiving in Charleston, SC

For Thanksgiving our little family of 3 decided to take a vacation to the lovely Charleston, SC. Dan and I both fell in love with this small city a little over a year ago when we traveled there for our baby moon. We decided we had such a great time there for our first baby moon, why not travel there for our second baby moon.

Daddy's Girl

Its crazy what can happen in just one year!

Walking the streets was one of our favorite things to do in Charleston. There is so much charm and character to this  little city.

Could she be any cuter?

We bought matching headbands at the market downtown. We even bought one for baby sister. :)
Love the southern charm and Christmas decorations.

We took Callie to the South Carolina Aquarium.  We had such a great time! Callie absolutely loved all the colorful fish, she probably could have stayed there all day.

My Favorite picture from the entire trip! Love these two so much!

Our hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas time.

2 years= best years so far!

I saw this great idea on pinterest right before Dan and I got married in 2011. The idea is every year we take a picture on our anniversary of the picture from the year before.
I absolutely love this idea and I think it's going to be really fun for us and our girls to look back on.
We just celebrated our second anniversary in October so this picture is two months late, but better late than never.
